Proverbs 19:24 "A slothful man hideth his hand in his bosom, and will not so much as bring it to his mouth again."
What a bum and what a one-liner to describe him! This guy has the food available to him, but it is to much work for him to raise it to his lips. Yet how often we do this spiritually. We have the feast of the Word of God spread out freely before us, and we are to lazy to partake. And if we do, sometimes we spit out what we taste if we don’t like it, even though we know it is good for us.
Are you feasting on the Word of God, savoring it, and then allowing its nutrition to nourish your soul? Are you being negligent to feed yourself spiritually, or failing to savor God’s Word? Are you the epitome of laziness, the average Joe, or a person after God’s heart? What one-liner would people use to describe you?
Do not be like the slothful bum spiritually or physically. Be the epitome of a person after God’s own heart.
"How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!" Psalm 119:103
