Proverbs 7:26 "For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her."
In my Bible, Proverbs 7 is titled, "A Prostitute’s Trap." This Scripture warns of the severe consequences of dabbling in immorality which is the destruction of your life. Solomon starts out by commanding his son to be obedient and to highly regard his words.
Immorality is not a respecter of persons. It will tear down anyone and everyone it can. All it takes is a brief lapse of vigilance in guarding your heart to result in mental or physical sexual sin. Constantly keep a guard on your heart. As Jeremiah 17:9 says, it is deceitful and desperately wicked. Thus we must constantly keep it in check and engrave into our heart attitude the commands of our heavenly Father and dad to keep us from the trap of immorality (Prov. 7:1-5).
What verses do you have memorized relevant to the temptations you face? Jesus was victorious over the temptation of Satan in the wilderness because of His reliance on the Holy Spirit, because of His wise use of memorized Scripture pertinent to the temptation, and because of His obedience to those memorized Scriptures (Luke 4:1-12). In what two ways will you better equip yourself to be victorious over the temptations you face today?
"Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee." Psalm 119:11
